JMET Question Paper Pattern
The question paper will consist of only objective type questions. Candidates have to mark the correct choice by darkening the appropriate bubble against each question on an Objective Response Sheet (ORS). There will be negative marking for wrong answers. The deduction for each wrong answer will be 25% of the allotted marks.


About Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)
An apex body, IIT council established by Government of India; runs Indian Institutes of Technology across India. There are seven such institutes which provide best engineering education to its candidates and are re-known the world over for its quality and research pattern. Institutes of Technology Act, 1963 enabled this apex body to make these institutes as an autonomous statutory organization independent in their own, thus making them liberal for their research work and providing quality education in the field of technical, engineering and such other aspects. The Government of India along with IIT council co-ordinates with the board of governs responsible for overall control and administration of these institutes. The IIT council is headed by the minister for Human Resource Development of Government of India.   

There are seven IITs in India at present at Kanpur, Bombay, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati, Roorkee and Delhi. Government of India has proposed to open seven more IITs across India soon at Bhubaneswar, Gandhinagar, Mandi, Patna, Punjab, Rajasthan, Hyderabad, Indore and Roorkee. Each IIT has their own Alumni Association, and their alumni have been highly signified across the world. They have gained top positions at top universities, in large corporate sector, in leading research organizations and in government and non profits organizations, serving the society.

IITs provide bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in science, engineering and management and other disciplines are recognized all over the world for their quality research. Each IIT maintains their own websites and for all matters concerning use the website links of IIT.
The prime objective of these institutions is to nurture solid foundation of technical expertise and to prepare motivated, competent and excellent scientists and engineers. Students of these institutes have cultivated vision and successful social and professional lives. Thus these institutions play a key vital role in significant development of our country worldwide.
